The world has lost a visionary.

No matter if you were a Mac lover or hater, chances are Steve Jobs touched your life in some way. Even if you didn't own an iPod, iPhone, iPad or even a Mac, his ideas and dreams helped to push others towards his own dream. He made Microsoft Windows stretch their boundaries, and made mobile smartphones run leaps and bounds.

President Obama said it best: ""The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented."

Click here to read the article by Lev Grossman, who was interviewed on today's (Wednesday) Talk of the Nation on NPR.

He writes about fanfic and its existence, etc, focusing mainly on Harry Potter.

Very interesting interview, and a decent article at that.

I am always shocked that I get reviews on my stories still. I didn't write that many, and wrote them long ago - and there are far superior authors out there, many of whom are on my f-list.

I just got one today at Ashwinder that really warmed my heart and made my day:

"I don't know if you still pay attention to the this story anymore but if you do I'd like to let you know that I stumbles upon this story and thought it sounded interesting but now that I've read not only have I learned it's interesting but I've learned that it's one of the most beautiful little stories I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time. Your writing is great, thought you would like to know."

This was on my one-shot "Burden of the Heart".

I just had to share this review gem and heart-warming moment with you all...

p.s. I just discovered a whole host of reviews at OWL... whoops. Must've been during one of their Review-a-paloozas.

What's going on with the wankery? I'm a bit confused...

... all I can tell is that it doesn't seem to be necessarily fandom-centric... for once.

Care to fill a gal in?

*loves* it when she gets defriended without warning. It's really the most un-charming thing.

Thanks to all of you who have stuck around and kept me friended even though I rarely post. True e-friends (and some of you, non-e-friends as well).

Wow... Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson... all dead in the last two days. AMAZING. Amazingly sad.

I'm letting my paid account lapse, in case anyone ever looks at my userpics and wondering where they went. I'm rarely on here enough to post comments on others, and no one seems to read or remember I'm here... so I can put that money to better use.
